Last month we celebrated Earth Day, which called upon us all to ‘invest in our planet’. A gentle but greatly needed reminder to us all to continue to strive to act on this every day.
As a GER® member of The Long Run, we believe that travel experiences should have a positive impact on the destination and the local people. We will continue to pour all of our time and resources into protecting nature, securing a future for our wildlife, celebrating our vibrant cultures and improving our local communities’ wellbeing.

After excitedly welcoming the long-awaited rains, we’re feeling refreshed and ready for the busy summer safari season ahead with THE GREAT MIGRATION soon to be knocking at our door.
Precious water has injected a new lease of life into the Maasai Mara, with our guests experiencing some amazing wildlife sightings (the BIG 5 in one day, this happened not once but THREE times!), reminding us of the power of nature and our need to respect and protect it.
One of the small but significant ways that we’re doing this is through our Seedballs impact activity. It’s great fun for all ages, educational and helps to reforest our Olderkesi Conservancy which we are continuously working on rehabilitating from being overgrazed by cattle.

Going on safari with your children is sure to be one of the most unforgettable trips you’ll ever have. Nature can provide a lifetime of bonding experiences and memories.

NEW! Shared charter flights connecting Lewa and the Mara
It’s now easier than ever to experience the famous Maasai Mara and the iconic Lewa Wildlife Conservancy in one seamless safari. New from 01 June 2022, Air Wilderness and Scenic Air Safaris have partnered to create Scenic Wilderness which will operate direct flights between Lewa and the Mara on a shared charter basis for the first time. The Scenic Wilderness shared charter flight will be the most convenient and comfortable way to travel between Lewa and the Masai Mara, and vice versa, eliminating the necessity to stop over in Nairobi when travelling from the Mara to Lewa.
This offers maximum flexibility when planning itineraries, allowing safaris to start in either destination and end in the other. This shared charter service is limited to 9 seats in an Executive Cessna Caravan and will operate daily between 08:00 and 13:00 from 01 June 2022.

Cottar’s 1920s Camp has been nominated in the Condé Nast Traveler Readers’ Choice Awards 2022. A BIG thank you to our amazing team for all their hard work, ensuring our nomination.
